Wireless Apple CarPlay Installation Guide for Porsche 911 with PCM 3.1

Prerequisites

• A Porsche with PCM 3.1 (with Navi Button)
• 2012-2016 911 (991.1)
• 2012-2016 Porsche Cayman
• 2012-2016 Porsche Boxster
• 2014-2016 Porsche Macan
• 2010-2016  Panamera
• 2010-2017 Cayenne
• iOS and Android Phone Operating System
• Basic tools (screwdrivers, trim removal tools)
• Familiarity with car electronics (if you are not comfortable working with car electronics we recommend that you arrange professional installation)

Steps

1. Preparation
   • Disconnect the car battery
   • Remove any trim panels
   • Unscrew and Remove the PCM unit from the dashboard
2. Connect the CarPlay Module (we recommend watching the youtube video for visual instructions)
   • Locate the main harness behind the PCM and unclip the PCM.
   • Remove 5 screws on PCM and and slide it open.
   • Unclip wire ribbon attached to the CD player. 
   • Install 3 stand-off screws into screw holed in original board. 
   • Unclip two remaining ribbon cables.
   • Install 2 new ribbon cables (side blue to match original blue side)
   • Install new USB and Power cables as well as the antennas and clip into new circuit board 
   • Reattached the ribbon cables and close the PCM
3. Reassemble and Test

• Connect the new wring loom to the existing wiring. 
• Reconnect the PCM unit
• Reconnect the car battery
• Power on the system and test the wireless CarPlay functionality
